Polish Days: To Boldly Go

This month’s Polish Days theme is science fiction. I’m not much of a sci-fi fan, except for being a huge geek over Star Wars. I blame my brothers because they love the original trilogy (episodes IV, V and VI) and we used to watch all the reruns on TV.

My manicure was copied from a Threadless t-shirt that I own, which was inspired by the iconic R2-D2. The design, named Rebel Lighthouse, shows a lighthouse (R2-D2) emitting light (holographic projection) over rocky coastline with a full moon (Death Star) in the night sky.

On my index finger, I have the top part of R2-D2. I wish I could squeeze more details in but it’s still recognizable. The next two nails have the R2-D2’s holographic projection over the waves. The last nail shows the Death Star with the dark dot being the Superlaser.

I really enjoyed myself converting this design onto my nails. I’m not good at coming up with my own designs but I love adapting from things I like. I hope you liked this as much as I did.

Thanks for reading! Have a look at the other sci-fi nails below.

Polish peels:
• China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat (1 coat)
• ManGlaze Mayonnaise – R2-D2
• OPI Road House Blues – background & details
• OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls – Death Star
• Pure Ice Heart Breaker – projection
• Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat (1 coat)

  6. Love the nails. Really they're spectacular! Just one thing, your title is from Star Trek. Not trying to be rude I just wanted to let you know.
